KFC hooks up Blackcaps batsman Ross Taylor with 'chicken dollars' for his birthday

Blackcaps hero Ross Taylor can now add a boat-load of chicken to the injury troubles currently on his plate.

Celebrating his birthday on Thursday a day after his remarkable series-saving innings against England, KFC have come to his party with the gift of $181 worth of "chicken dollars", one for each run he scored during the fourth ODI in Dunedin.

The now 34-year-old's predilection for the Colonel's chicken has been well documented, earning him the nickname "The KFC Kid" from the Alternative Commentary Collective (ACC).

It isn’t the first time he's celebrated a birthday with those secret herbs and spices, documenting in a tweet back in 2014 the strange celebratory combo of an Australian red wine and a bucket of KFC.

With just the $181 alone, Taylor could stock up to the tune of 60 pieces of original recipe chicken, six large potato and gravies, six large chips, and three 1.5 litre soft drinks.

Taylor is currently in a race to regain full fitness ahead of the fifth and decisive ODI in Christchurch on Saturday.
