After serving the black jersey well, racking up a record 512 games for the side and being crowned the most capped player in world sevens series history, Sevens legend DJ Forbes has announced his retirement.

The 34 year old has won 26 tournmaents and six world title series with the All Black Sevens side, has been named the International Sevens Player of the Year in 2008 and captained the All Blacks Sevens side and that's not even getting in depth into his massive career as a sevens player.

In an Instagram post, DJ Forbes announced the sad but understandable news.
