Wellington named one of the world's cleanest capital cities

Wellington is known by us Kiwis as possibly the windiest place in all of Aotearoa. But now it is soooo much more than that.

Windy Welly has just been crowned second place on the top 10 list of cleanest capitals by British newspaper, the Daily Telegraph.

Wellington swoops in at second only behind the capital of Sweeden, Stockholm. The Daily Telegraph's list comes in response to a new report by the World Health Organisation (WHO) that suggests pollution now poses a greater threat to human health than HIV and Ebola.

Wellington's relatively low population and coastal location were factors in its ranking, as was the fact it is the capital of a country "renowned for its dramatic scenery, outdoorsy lifestyle and fresh air".

Go Wellington!
